Metal curtain rods from the Dakota 1 1/8" Poles Apart collection are a great option for a modern or contemporary style window treatment. The rods are available in Brushed Nickel, Brushed Tea or Chrome and the finial options include crystal, and contrasting metallic finishes. Both standard and bypass style rings are offered so you can cover wide spans with operable curtains.

If you don't have enough room for a decorative finial, end caps are a nice option. The provide a stylish, finished look to your curtain rods and don't take up a lot of wall space. You may also want to use a pair of end caps on the back rod of a double layer treatment. For collections that don't include a double bracket, you can create a double rod treatment by using standard brackets with different projections. You'll just need to install the brackets for the rear rod slightly inside and under the brackets for the outermost rod and adjust the return so the curtains don't rub against each other.

Bypass brackets are always used with their matching bypass or c-rings. When creating a treatment with bypass brackets, you'll use the non-bypass version as the end brackets and the bypass version for supports along the length of your curtain rod. The c-rings will be able to move past the supporting bypass brackets allowing your drapery to open and close.
