Create A Swag Treatment Using Gould NY Holdbacks

Gould NY has several holdback styles available finished in their popular Fashion Avenue and Ironcraft colors. Holdbacks are sometimes called tiebacks, rosettes or medallions. No matter what you call them, their function is the same. These decorative pieces of drapery hardware are used to hold your curtain back away from the window. You can either gather your fabric around the projection posts by hand, or you can use a decorative rope or chain to tie back your curtain to the holdback.

You can also use holdbacks to hang your curtains in place of a drapery rod. Placing holdbacks around your window, you can easily drape or swag your curtain between your holdbacks to create a unique design that's truly one-of-a-kind.

While most all of the Gould NY holdbacks are available in colors or finishes that match their drapery rods, it's become popular to select a contrasting color for the holdbacks. For example, if you have a black drapery rod, you may want a bright white or brilliant silver holdback. The interaction between the colors will really add interest to your window treatment.

Most all holdbacks come with a projection post. Projection is the measurement from the wall the very back of the holdback. It's important that you consider other objects in your room when selecting a projection. The holdback should have a large enough projection that you can easily gather your fabric behind it. But, it shouldn't project out into the room too far and interfere with furniture or other elements in your home decor. The most common projection is four inches.

The holdback designs offered by Gould NY rang from traditional round medallion style holdbacks to rustic and ornate wrought iron style. The wrought iron style holdbacks are part of the popular Ironcraft collection and are available in all of the traditional finishes like black, gold and pewter.
